Description |
A) Waistbelt Length of cotton webbing with set of hooked brass buckles slipped over the ends of the belt and secured by a brass keeper band. Two 1" buckles on the reverse of the belt to attach the braces. Belt is the shortest of the available lengths (44", 50", 56") for this pattern of webbing. "The belt was sized by using hooks fitted to the brass ends of the belt; the ends of the belt were doubled back, and these hooks were then inserted into cloth loops running the length of the interior of the belt." (Description from CanadianSoldiers.com) B) Right Brace Long narrow length of cotton webbing with a widened section in the middle for shoulder comfort. Brass metal end pieces on the ends of the strap. Manufacturer stamp and date on reverse side; letter "R" to indicate right side. C) Left Brace Long narrow length of cotton webbing with a widened section in the middle for shoulder comfort. Brass metal end pieces on the ends of the strap. Handwritten inscription on reverse side in marker. |
