The top of the whistle is engraved with "R.C.R" and the model of the whistle, "THE Metropolitan" This specific type of whistle was designed by ACME for Scotland Yard and Metropolitan Police in 1883. It was used extensively in the first and second world wars by the armed forces. The high decibal whistle can be heard up to one mile away. |
