RCR Association commemorative coin for CWO BOBBY GIROUARD BRANCH 121 in Edmonton, Alberta. Patern designed ca. 2012. [Obverse] Gold coloured oblong coin with enamel design. Decorative edge with angled fluted lines/ridges. Inside the decorative band, three concentric sections of design. Outer section has 3 horizontal sections of coloured enamel, blue, yellow & black. Blue section has raised silver text " THE RCR ASSOCIATION"; yellow section has 2 figures on either side in uniform; black section has raised silver text "CWO BOBBY GIROUARD BRANCH". Narrow section inside the enamel tricolour ring with "Pro Patria" in small raised text at the top. Centre section has teal enamel background with regimental badge in silver and gold, surmounted by gold scroll with red lettering "ALBERTA". "EST" on left and "2010" on right of badge. [Reverse] Back enamel band inside the decorative edge. Raised gold lettering along top and bottom with red enamel maple leaves on each side. In the centre, a depiction of the RCR collar badge with beaver and "PRO PATRIA" on a scroll. Two raised rectangular shapes below the badge with "121" engraved on lower plate. |
