RCR Infantryman Statuette |
Description |
Statuette (A) of an RCR soldier wielding a rifle mounted on a square wooden base with an inscribed metal engraving plate. The mold for the statuette was made in 1969 by Andre Gauthier, a sculptor who produced many pieces relating to the Canadian Forces. The statue shows a male soldier standing with his left foot slightly ahead of the right with his left hand hanging by his side. In his right hand he holds a detachable rifle (B) pointed up at a ~ 45 degree angle and slightly to the right. The soldier is wearing a beret with battle dress including the webbing kit with binoculars, a water bottle, and a gas mask carrier. The statue is extremely detailed, showing the cap badge, epaulets, and rank insignia. Cold cast bronze (resin with bronze powder coating) |
