Rectangular box with hinged lid on one long edge. Lid is engraved on outside. Decorative band of raised trim around the opening edge of the vertical sides. Inside of box lined with cedar for storing tobacco products (ex. cigarettes, cigars). There is a mirror-like polish/finish on inside of lid. Silver cigarette box presented to Captain Piers Pappin (Lieutenant-Colonel at time of donation) at the time of his marriage. Error in engraving initials, second box presented with corrected information. This is the original box with mistake. |
