Description |
A black and white photographic print of the B Company, The RCR, softball team, who were Regimental Champions in 1934. The print is inside a light brown cardboard slip frame. There is a dark brown border around the inner edge of the frame, encircling the print. The image depicts 12 men arranged in two rows of six. The back row is standing with their arms crossed against their chests. The front row is seated on a bench with their arms also crossed. The men are wearing light coloured pants, and a V-neck sweater made of three horizontal blocks of different colours. A large wooden circular plaque with smaller shield-shapes around the edges rests against the knees of the two men in the centre of the front row. On the ground in front of the plaque is a baseball glove with a softball resting in it. Three bats are arranged in a triangle around the glove. The image appears to be taken outside. The text below the image reads: "R.C.R. B. Company Softball Team / Regimental Champions 1934." "I.C.D Gilbert ; C.P. Wilson ; S.G. Hill ; G. Fawcett ; F. Godon ; W.S. Hubbard" "E.M. Skiller ; W.H. Wilson ; E.K. Anthony ; J. Grindlay ; T.A. Horan ; W.F. Johns" A stamp on the back of the frame reads: "PANORA [Illegible] HOTOGRAPHY CO. / [illegible] LATTA, Prop. / 67 MA [Illegible] AVE.
